Practising yoga nidra, a technique by which students learn how to relax yet conscious, we can release tension accumulated in the body, mind and feelings. Physical tension involves body functions. Emotional tension involves repressed feelings and stress connected to the duality of things such as the pair love-hate. Spiritual tension involves all these messages stored daily in our mind. If we don’t use the appropriate techniques to delete all these messages and relieve stress connected thereto, they all come back to us affecting our temper, mind and body.
Yoga nidra is a precious technique for all of us living in the city. The moments of deep relaxation are moments of spiritual well-being, revitalization and balance. It is said that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 3 hours of conventional sleep! It is useful to practise in the afternoon, after having completed our main activities, so as to release the tiredness caused by these activities. Yoga nidra is a meditation technique which introduces us to internalization and to a releasing of the mind from negative thoughts And that’s the first step towards exercise and meditation.
